Generations

We say to ourselves, 'our Children are our most precious natural resource'.
We also say, 'Our children deserve the best education'.
Then we put them in schools full of underpaid, underappreciated teachers who, through the curriculum, are forced into roles with little more creative input than your average factory worker.

We are amazed when our children become 'out of control!', as if we expected children's TV, pop stars and sports personalities to do a better job at raising our children. If Britney Spears and the local Football captain can't show my child how to be, what chance do they have to learn what it means to be an adult!?
We certainly don't do it ourselves!
We are far too busy earning more cash, gaining that social status, fulfilling our own needs.
If I didn't have a Ferrari, what would I do when I met a man with a Ferrari!?

If we are to advance as a species, I think it's time we stopped lying to ourselves. Far too much is slipped past us because of our own guilt over living the way we do, rather than the way we should.
To hell with 'the way we should'! Are you going to listen to a bunch of marketing men tell you how to live your life? What the hell do they know!? Nothing, save how to sell you more crap and make you feel as if you need it more than anything else.
More than happiness, more than accomplishments...

More than your children.

We drive a wedge between us and our children made of pride and bullshit, then we are saddened and dismayed when they run into the arms of someone else.
ANYONE else.
Open up folks, and stop passing the buck. Share yourselves with your kids or lose them forever. And before you dismiss everything I say, look around the world in which we live. There are some bad, BAD men out there... do you really want your kids to be dominated by pharma-fascists, soul-less capitalists or political zealots..?
